Industrial Automation Component Supplier UK | Charter Controls

Building industrial control panels? Charter Controls helps UK panel builders consolidate commonly specified control and automation components across fewer suppliers. Source GIC timers, Shenler relays, Linkwell filter fans, Connectwell DIN rail terminals, Pairui power supplies and Esbee control and indication products from one UK account, backed by technical support and UK stockholding.

Control panel components from manufacturers we represent

Panel builders rarely need another catalogue containing thousands of loosely related products. They need dependable components that fit the drawing, arrive when the build needs them and come with technical support when there is a question about compatibility, substitution or application.

Charter Controls is a manufacturers' agent and direct OEM importer. We work directly with the manufacturers behind the products we supply and hold key ranges in UK stock.

That gives panel builders another option when reviewing an existing bill of materials, standardising a repeat panel or looking for alternatives to established components.

Why panel builders buy from a manufacturers' agent

Buying through a manufacturers' agent gives you a direct route to the product manufacturer without having to manage separate overseas supplier relationships yourself.

For Charter Controls customers, that means access to products sourced directly from the factories we represent, UK stockholding across core ranges and a UK technical team that understands how the products are actually used inside industrial control panels.

It also makes it possible to consolidate products from several manufacturers onto one account and one enquiry rather than sourcing every component family independently.

Products for the panels you build every day

GIC timers and control products

GIC time delay relays cover timing and sequencing duties commonly required in industrial control panels.

A good example is the GIC 1CMDT0 multi-function timer. It combines 10 selectable timing functions with a 12-240 V AC/DC supply and a timing range from 0.1 seconds to 100 hours in a 17.5 mm DIN rail format.

That makes one timer suitable for a broad range of common panel functions including ON delay, OFF delay, interval, pulse and cyclic timing.

Shenler industrial relays

Shenler industrial relays provide switching options for interface, general-purpose and higher-current applications within control and automation panels.

The Charter Controls range focuses on core Shenler families including RNC, RKE, RFT, RKL, RUB and REH, together with the matching relay sockets and accessories required to complete the installation.

This gives panel builders options across different coil voltages, contact arrangements and switching duties while keeping relays, sockets and associated accessories within one product family.

Connectwell DIN rail terminals

Connectwell DIN rail terminals provide both traditional screw-clamp and push-in connection technologies for control panel wiring.

The CY Series provides screw-clamp terminals for panel builders who prefer a conventional termination method, while the CP Series uses push-in technology for faster wiring on repeat and higher-volume panel builds.

The range includes standard feed-through terminals together with earth, fused, multi-level and other specialist configurations, supported by matching jumpers, end plates, marker systems and other terminal accessories.

Linkwell enclosure cooling

Heat generated inside an enclosure can affect component reliability and service life, making thermal management part of the panel design rather than an afterthought.

Linkwell axial and filter fans provide forced-air ventilation for electrical control panels and automation enclosures, with different sizes, airflow capacities and supply voltages available to match the cooling requirement.

The range includes intake filter fans, axial fans and matching exhaust arrangements for panel builders who need a straightforward way to move filtered air through an enclosure.

For applications requiring active closed-loop cooling rather than ventilation, Charter Controls also supplies the Cooltechx enclosure air-conditioning range.

Pairui control panel power supplies

Pairui AC-DC switch mode power supplies provide regulated DC power for PLCs, relays, HMIs, sensors and other control-panel equipment.

The range includes industrial DIN rail power supplies with common 12 V DC and 24 V DC outputs and a selection of power ratings to suit different control circuit loads.

For example, the Pairui IS240-24 provides a 24 V DC, 10 A output from a wide-range AC input for industrial automation panel applications.

Esbee indication and operator controls

Esbee Electrotech supplies panel-mounted control, indication and signalling products including LED indicators, push buttons, selector switches, audible signalling and tower lights.

The range is particularly relevant to panel builders looking for the everyday 22.5 mm operator and indication products used across industrial control panels.

The new Esbee PRO LED Indicator range adds modern panel indication options while maintaining the familiar 22.5 mm mounting format used throughout industrial control systems.

Reduce the number of suppliers on your BOM

Panel builders often inherit specifications that have evolved over years. A timer may come from one supplier, relays from another, terminals from a third and enclosure cooling from somewhere else entirely.

There is nothing inherently wrong with that arrangement, but every additional sourcing route creates another purchase order, delivery, invoice, supplier record and potential lead-time dependency.

Charter Controls can review an existing specification and identify the parts of the BOM we can support from the manufacturers we represent.

That does not mean replacing components simply for the sake of changing them. Where a substitution is proposed, the electrical rating is only the beginning. Physical dimensions, terminal arrangement, accessories, timing behaviour, switching characteristics and installation requirements can all matter.

Cross-reference support when you already have a specification

If your drawing or BOM already contains established part numbers, send them to us.

Our technical team can identify products within the Charter Controls range that may be relevant and explain the differences that need to be considered before a change is made.

This can be useful when:

  • a component is becoming difficult to source;
  • lead times no longer suit the build programme;
  • you are reviewing the cost of an established panel;
  • you want to standardise components across several designs;
  • you want to consolidate several existing suppliers;
  • or you are designing a new panel and want another sourcing option before the BOM is fixed.

UK stock and technical support

Charter Controls holds UK stock across core product ranges and supplies panel builders, OEMs and system integrators throughout the UK.

Because we work directly with the manufacturers behind the products, we can also provide technical support on product selection, accessories and compatibility rather than simply supplying a catalogue number.

For repeat panels, we can discuss forecast demand and the ranges that make sense to hold against your build programme.

Frequently asked questions

Why buy control components from a manufacturers' agent rather than a distributor?

A manufacturers' agent works directly with the manufacturers it represents. For Charter Controls customers, this provides access to factory-backed product ranges combined with UK stockholding, local technical support and one supplier relationship across several component families.

How can panel builders reduce BOM cost without increasing risk?

Start by reviewing the whole bill of materials rather than changing components individually. Consolidating compatible product families can reduce the number of suppliers and deliveries involved, while proposed substitutions should be checked for electrical rating, physical fit, accessories, wiring and application requirements before being approved.

Does Charter Controls provide technical support?

Yes. Charter Controls provides technical support on the control and automation products it supplies, including product selection, accessories, cross-referencing and application questions.

Can Charter Controls cross-reference existing brands?

Yes. Send us your existing specification, BOM or manufacturer part numbers. We can identify products within the Charter Controls range that may be relevant and explain the differences that should be considered before making a substitution.

Send us the panel you're building

If you already have a bill of materials, drawing or component list, send it to Charter Controls. We can identify the parts of the specification we can support, review relevant alternatives and look for practical opportunities to consolidate purchasing across the panel.

Send your BOM or project brief for review
